This completes our holiday edition of Creative and Crafty. Our busiest season is past and it’s time to refocus with some new stra-tee-gery. Weddings, anyone?

Blue and red make a divine Valentine’s combination, don’t they?  Stephanie wanted to hide it away & keep it for herself, but it was ripped from her hands sold almost as soon as it was created.

Seriously, though, we think that it’s hearts that create the ultimate Valentine’s love note!  Hearts pitter-patter and flutter and make us feel all gooey inside. And a sweet little number like the card below can instantly make you gooey. We swear. We really saw it happen!

This year had exceeded our wildest dreams, and the coming one will be even more spectacular. We’re gonna rock the handmade shop circuit and work on getting our cards in more boutiques and tiny shops. We’ll be expanding our offerings to include custom-made scrapbooks, wall hangings, framed art and treat bags for just about any party theme a creative mind can think up. It’s gonna be cool. Did we scare you? No? Seriously?! You mean that seeing something instead of nothing in our blog didn’t take you by surprise? Good. We’re so glad. Because we want you to come back. And often!

Welcome to Creative and Crafty’s little voice on the ‘net. We’re a couple of chatty gals who love what we do. The cuteness you see above is Fred. Fred the Spider. He makes us happy. We like to pet him and love him and then sell him. Kind of like our kids. Just kidding. Seriously. We don’t sell our kids. But we do sell our cards.

When people are introduced to our business, they are usually amazed and a little shocked. Most unlucky souls have never received a handmade card and are the weary recipients of generic, tasteless cards from the grocery store. Consequently, we get asked of oodles of questions.

Like:
Q: Do you guys really create all these cards by hand?
A: Yup. They’re all handmade by us! Every single one of them.

Q: Is it just the two of you? Doing all this?
A: Yup. It’s just the two of us. And we rock.

Q: Who does what in your business?
A: Angela is our Talking Head. There’s over 500 networking groups that meet in Austin every week, and if Angela could, she would clone herself and go to all of them worth going to. She works incredibly hard promoting our business. She’s amazing with people. And amazing in general.
Stephanie (your blog author for the evening) is the Creator of the Cards. I use virtually every craft media I can in making our original designs. I love blending digital images and doodles with traditional stamps, ribbon, ink, paint and paper. This blending of media, or hybrid design, denotes our style. It’s truly the best of both worlds.

Q: How long does it take to design a card?
A: It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. The time it takes depends on whether or not what is seen in my head winds up materializing the way  I pictured.

Q: Are there bulk discounts?
A: Of course.  Prices vary, but generally orders of 25 cards or more are priced between $2.50 and $5 per card depending on the degree of work and the level of detail each card requires.

Q: Do you have a store front?
A: This is best answered as “Coming soon!”

Q: How long does it take to receive my order?
A: We operate on a schedule of 2-3 weeks depending on the size of the order. This includes design and production time.

Q: May I put my company logo on my card?
A: Yes! As long as you have permission to distribute the image, we can use it.

Q: Do you sell your cards in any stores?
A: Our cards are currently found at Alpine Florist on the corner of Onion Creek Parkway and IH-35 in south Austin. We’re working on a few more stores and will be shouting the news from the rooftops as our cards arrive in more boutiques.
